Signed as a non-drafted free agent December 12, 2005 by Mariners scouts Franklin Taveras Jr., Patrick Guerrero and Bob Engle...is under contract for the 2006 season.

Spent season with Wisconsin...finished 2nd in the Midwest League with a 1.95 ERA, while his ERA and strikeouts (128) led all Mariners farmhands...named the Mariners Minor League Pitcher of the Year and Wisconsin's Pitcher of the Year by the Seattle Mariners...went 3-0 with a 0.38 ERA (1 ER, 23.2 IP) in first 6 appearances, April 5-May 9...allowed 3 earned runs or less in 19 of 21 starts, including last 11 starts, July 6-Sept. 1...struck out 11 batters in 7.0 innings, Aug. 3 vs. Great Lakes...on Sept. 1 at Quad Cities, tossed complete game 1-hit shutout (9.0,1,0,0,0,14); struck out 14 in the game, setting a career-high...named Midwest League Pitcher of the Week, Aug. 25-Sept. 1, after tossing complete game shutout...limited opponents to a .216 (109x504).
